Mid-size regional law firm seeks experienced litigation legal secretary with 10
years' experience for their Los Angeles County office located in the city of Glendale.
We are a medical malpractice firm and the position is for a heavy litigation desk.
This position is responsible for performing legal secretarial duties requiring both sound judgment, superior organizational skills as well as excellent (court filing) technical knowledge.
The duties include preparing, and processing pleadings/briefs in the various state and federal courts, preparing and processing correspondence, calendaring, trial preparation, etc.
The skill level of this position places strong emphasis on accuracy, quality, and attention to detail.
Must be able to take initiative and work independently.
A strong knowledge of legal procedures and court rules (federal and state) is a must.
Dynamic personality and excellent communication skills required.
Proficient in Word Perfect, Microsoft Word, Legal Solutions, and Outlook Calendaring.
Excellent organizational and time management skills; excellent attendance and reliability a must, able to lift 20 lbs routinely Exemplary customer service/people skills, excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a team environment Strong initiative with the ability to be detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines Strong proficiency using MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and have a minimum typing speed of 55 wpm Our firm offers a competitive salary with medical, dental and vision benefits.
