Job Description:
Disney Technology Solutions & Services (DTSS) is responsible for technology strategy and management, central engineering, architecture, IT and technical operations for The Walt Disney Company including virtual worlds, flagship Web sites , Disney , and . DTSS provides services in both platform engineering and web operations. Platform engineering includes Content Management Systems, UGC Enforcement Platform, E-commerce, Video Distribution Technology, Registration, Advertising Systems and Data Warehouse & Reporting. The DTSS web operations teams focus on Servers & Hosting and Network Connectivity. DTSS teams are located in Seattle, Bristol, Glendale, New York, Burbank, and Orlando.
The Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) Program Management team reports the Senior Manager of Program Management within the DTSS organization. The team is responsible for supporting business operations coordination, reporting, and alignment of key EIS cross-departmental initatives including project portfolio analysis, budget and forecasting coordination with Finance partners, and ongoing operational reporting and metrics collection and summarization.
The Senior Portfolio and Business Operations Specialist will ensure the creation, timeliness, and accuracy of business operations and portfolio reporting for all EIS Program Management ongoing and ad-hoc initatives as well as operational reporting for the EIS Supplier Management Office (SMO) and Client Services (CS) teams.
Specifically, the Specialist will be responsible for gathering, understanding and representing financial, trending, usage, and other non-technical data reporting initatives. The Specialist will work closely with Finance, services owners, and management to track, manage, identify, and facilitate operational reporting processes and analysis. This position requires strong computer skills, attention to detail, positive professional attitude, and ability to work in a team environment.
The Specialist will be responsible for:
Data quality analysis support: Analyze and report on metrics defined for EIS, SMO, and CS level review and use
Portfolio Reporting: Assemble and publish periodic reporting materials including executive summaries, budget vs forecast vs actuals, major status reports and change request impacts
Business operations reporting: Assemble and publish periodic reporting materials including executive summaries, budget vs forecast vs actuals, major status reports and change request impacts
Reporting change management: monitor status of requests for updates/changes, notes and documentation in change meetings from approved baselines, follow up, escalation
Presentation prep: Data collection and presentation of key Program and Project metrics; support analysis requests from Sr. Manager, executive team, and Finance
Tool support: Assist PMs and delivery owners with Clarity and Adaptive Planning process and tool questions
Portfolio Documentation management: manage PAR repositories for all approved PARs, monitor and update as new Projects are implemented
Provide support to drive new PMO reporting initiatives as defined by Sr. Manager and EIS leadership
Financial Planning Reporting: Assist Sr. Manager with exports, reporting, and presentation prep for major planning cycles, including 5 Year Plan and AOP.
Become knowledgable on usage of the Disney instance of Adaptive Planning
Process documentation, support: EIS will be responsible for process definition and measurements for department-specific approval processes and scheduling during the roll out of the new Financial Planning system; analyst will support documentation of those processes as well as some fielding of overflow questions from EIS budget owners
Providing guidance and reccomendations around budget tool and data configurations
Support operational process development and maintainence especially in data metrics tracking
Support development and application of financial application management / business process support processes and procedures
Data Management including documentation of data flow, business rules defined for EIS team members
Providing training to EIS team members on business processes and procedures
Working closely with SMO and CS service owners to maintain an understanding of their operational reporting and trending needs
Basic Qualifications:
6+ years progressive experience in an IT field
2 years of experience in a analyst or Project or Program Management Office
Proven communication skills
Strong understanding of data management concepts, reporting, and configuration methodologies leveraging Excel
Task oriented individual that enjoys working with people and data solutions
Strong to expert level skill and experience in formulaic logic
Strong to expert level skills in data manipulation with tools like MS Excel, Access, Business Intelligence (BI) tools, etc.
Ability to quickly comprehend complex spreadsheets/data
A rich history of analytical and problem solving skills
Good presentation skills to management audiences
Knowledge and application of relational database concepts
Skilled at communicating and managing issues with technical teams and translating those into solutions
Experience in Apptio tools
Experience in Clarity tools
Experience in Adaptive Planning tools
Preferred Qualifications:
