Summary:
The Outpatient Clinical Pharmacist Works with the Outpatient Pharmacy Manager and pharmacy staff, to provide service to the patients. Ensures that medication, supplies, and drug information are furnished to the customer (patient, physician, nurse, etc) in an accurate, timely manner, in compliance with the Joint Commission and other regulatory standards.
Job Duties:
Reports all activities of the Outpatient Pharmacy to the Pharmacy Manager and Director of GAMC pharmacy, in the absence of the pharmacy manager.
Responsible for compliance with all laws governing the practice of pharmacy and distribution of drugs, and ensures compliance with regulations assigned by the board of pharmacy, Joint Commission and other regulatory bodies.
Supervises the preparation and dispensing of any pharmaceuticals.
Processes medication orders in an accurate and timely way in compliance with departmental and hospital regulations, Board of pharmacy and other regulatory guidelines; including positive and effective communication
between pharmacy, nursing and medical staff regarding the medication use process.
Education and
Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited College of Pharmacy,preferably with a Pharm D. Degree.
Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Residency preferred.
A valid California license to practice Pharmacy in the State of California.
Experience Two (2) years of pharmacy experience. Some administrative experience preferred.
