The Assistant Director, Development will assist the Assistant Vice President, Development in creating, coordinating and implementing fundraising and fundraising support programs.
Minimum Education:
College degree or equivalent experience required. Prefer coursework in journalism, communications, or business or equivalent experience.

Experience:
Due to its special nature, this position requires an experienced individual with a minimum 3 years of demonstrated successful administrative, fundraising support and/or marketing experience or its equivalent, preferably in a medical/science or higher educational setting. Requires knowledge of fund raising principles and techniques as well as successful experience working with community volunteers and donors. Must demonstrate strong communication and relationship skills with varied constituencies.
NOTE This position is located in our Glendale, CA offices
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required:
Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in dealing with hospital staff, patients and their families, volunteers, and all types of prospects. Experience in successful volunteer management. Excellent verbal and written skills, ensuring well written, accurate, compelling, strategically positioned materials with style adaptive to the audience; creativity; independent judgment; initiative and follow-through. Ability to organize time effectively and manage a large number of tasks simultaneously. Competency in computer skills, including word, spreadsheet applications, PowerPoint, outlook, internet. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with various levels of internal and external constituencies.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
