Outreach and Marketing Specialist

The Outreach and Marketing Specialist (OMS) actively engages in:
Marketing SBA programs and services through outreach, training, and education to various organizations and small business; Participates in outreach, training, education, development, lender recruitment, and consultations with all lenders in the district; Supports senior specialists in collaborative alliances and partnerships with Resource Partners, economic development organizations and small business owners; Assists in monitoring co-sponsorships; Furthering the SBA mission. The incumbent of the position may be assigned various local market duties to be determined upon selection and strengths of the individual selected. The OMS at the GS-09 level is the intermediate developmental performance level of the OMS. This position is developmental to the GS-11, and in that developmental capacity utilizes the basic knowledge learned that applies to the regular and recurring less difficult OMS work in the District office, referring the complex to a higher level OMS. GS-09:
One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
