Responsibilities Position Summary: The Medical Staff Assistant performs duties in support of and in compliance with the performance improvement plan, TJC and other licensing, accrediting and regulatory agencies. Responsible for providing technical and administrative support to the Medical Staff Department and Committee structure. Provides assistance as requested. Duties may include: Provides secretarial support for specific committees as assigned. Sends meeting notices and maintains accurate mailing list of members. Schedules room on a monthly basis adhering to time schedules, requests food (if any), and notifies Housekeeping about room set up. Prepares agenda in coordination with Division/Committee chair. Attends meetings. Prepares minutes/notes. Performs follow-up including preparation of notices to Medical Executive Committee for action items Coordinates Medical Staff reappointments. Mails, maintains check off list for reappointments and provides appropriate follow up (courtesy calls, second notices, final notices) as necessary. Follows up on incomplete applications. Maintains continuous oversight of reappointment process to ensure reappointment approval takes place prior to expiration date. Following approval of the application, updates computer database and files application in credentials file. Functions as Continuing Medical Education Coordinator as follows: Coordinates all physician-related CME activities. Types, prints and mails prior to the end of each month the upcoming monthly education schedule as provided by the CME Committee Chairman. Provides secretarial support for CME Committee. Qualifications Qualifications: One to three years Medical Staff Service experience. Basic computer knowledge Knowledge of Microsoft Word JCAHO and Title 22 requirements Medical Staff Services Science Certified Professional in Medical Services Management (CPMSM), Certified Physician Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred but not required Visual Cactus credentialying software experience is highly desirable.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
